The magic in the valley are dying out, they are soon no longer protected from the empire´s taxing and other plundering people, but there is help to get, four companions must find the sorcerer who helpt the valleypeople many years ago so that the forest still will protcet against the evil empire.
The main character is Tilja, a girl with no apparent magic abilities, her grandmother Meena, related to the first girl who sought help, Tahl and his grandfather Alnor who are related to the first boy who sought help.
Then there is the mysterious Ropemaker, what his role is you will find out when you read the book. =)
