This is a nice book about how a child becomes interested in birds. It started with two helpless young swallows to be fed because their parents were killed. After that, interest grew and many birds were found. Everyone has their own characteristics and some learn a lot. But among all the birds there is also a dog and a cat presented. The last story of an old lame hen that could no longer lay eggs was so adorable. I thought the book was very nice and amusing to read.
