I think this is a kind of chic-lit book. A little white lie that grows and grows. All to pleasure the mother. It's funny that parents opinions mean so much even when someone is grown up, so instead of telling the true make up a lie to pleasure them.
Long before the end I knew how it would end up. It's always interesting to see if I can follow the author and the way she is thinking.
